2010 Winter/Early Spring Training Schedule

Venting Gas Furnaces & Combustion Air Requirements Thursday  Jan. 14th 5-9 PM  $40
This class will cover natural, direct, and power venting of 80% and 90% furnaces, some venting rules, vent sizing exercises and combustion air requirements and how to meet them. *hours can be used for Gas Fitter Continuing Ed credit.


Heat Exchangers Tuesday Jan. 19th 6-8 pm  $20
Class will cover various types of heat exchangers, basic combustion effects on them, airflow, gas pressure, inspection methods, legalities and debunking myths about them and we will also have several heat exchangers on display as examples and handouts.  *hours can be used for Gas Fitter Continuing Ed credit.


Troubleshooting Gas Furnaces Thursday Jan. 21st 5-9  pm  $40
We will be going over the components, sequence of operations, start up checks, airflow calculations and troubleshooting of gas furnaces. We will also quickly go over diagrams, ignition modules and igniters. Fast paced class but hand-outs will be provided and we will be doing live fire test on our 2 classroom units. *hours can be used for Gas Fitter Continuing Ed credit.


Gas Valves, Ignition modules & Ignitors, Troubleshooting and using Universal Replacements Tuesday Jan. 26th 6-8 PM  $20
Class will go over how these components work, troubleshooting and how to use universal replacement parts for these components.


Gas Piping: The Basics & Sizing Thursday Jan. 28th 5-9 PM  $30
We will go over the basics of gas piping and do some sizing exercise. *hours can be used for Gas Fitter Continuing Ed credit.


Goodman Comfortnet Communicating System Training Thursday Feb. 4th 6-7:30 PM FREE How It Works, Products Affected, Main Components, Basic Features, Circuit Board Changes, ComfortNet Control (thermostat), Future Features


8-hour NATE Gas Heating/Core review class on consecutive Tuesday’s Feb. 9th and 16th with open testing on Saturday Feb 20th. Pricing for these sessions is listed below. These evening classes will run from 5 pm to 9 pm in the in our Nashua, NH store and the open testing will be from 8 am until 12 noon on Saturday morning. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. The review is Gas Warm Air only; No hydronic review is included.

Open NATE Testing Session Sat. Feb. 20th 8 AM to Noon $150 per test for those not in a program. This will be an open testing event for anyone who just wants to test. Testing starts at 8 AM in our Nashua training center. Online testing is available for candidates that bring in their own laptop. You must choose between Service and Installation testing at the time of Sign up. Those who earn Service Certification will also be certified in Installation.


Three-Night Electrical Boot Camp Tuesday-Thursday March 9th-11th 5:30-8:30 PM $95
This class is for the beginner or intermediate technician. This intense three night training seminar will cover basic electrical theory, circuits, relays, contactors, switches and loads, diagrams: their parts and how to read them, wiring of relays, contactors, switches and loads on our classroom training board, meters and how to use them for micro-amp reading, capacitors, etc., as well as the traditional volts, amps, ohms on our live equipment. This is a three night crash course on electrical theory, diagrams and troubleshooting. Be ready to learn!


R 410A Safety and orientation Tuesday April 6th 5:30-8:30 PM $55 Class will go over the difference in R-410 vs. R-22, Oil requirements, equipment requirements, change outs. We will also do a start up check on our classroom R-410A system so attendees can see the pressure difference and how similar the operating temperatures are.
